Cotton Country

Arrived in Leeton, New South Wales, today to check out the region's burgeoning cotton industry.

George Commins, pictured, is one of a number of young guns who have returned to family properties to grow cotton on what were once rice and grain operations.

The crop pictured was about a week off harvesting.

Koolaman Station

Back on the road this week and up in New South Wales.

Spent a couple of days with the Gorman family on Koolaman Station, north west of Balranald.

The sheep dogs were called into action for this shot, herding a mob of Merino rams just after sunrise.

Great Australians

This is Annabel Walsh, one of the most remarkable women I've met.

I had the privilege of spending two days at home with Annabel on her property, Moorna Station, in far south western NSW.

Annabel's story is part of a new magazine Great Australians to be published by R.M. Williams OUTBACK next month.

Order a copy here.

Selfie #1

Spent the first four days of the New Year on the road with some old college mates.

Drove from Mildura (Victoria) to Orange (New South Wales) for a wedding in a sheep paddock, followed by a reception in a big old 40-stand shearing shed.

Shot this selfie in the reflection of a mate's sunglasses stuck in the pocket of his suit.
