Bush footy

At the end of the 2015 Northern Mallee Football League season two arch rivals will merge.

When Ouyen United and Walpeup Underbool come together to form one club it will be the end of more than 100 years of football in Victoria's northern Mallee.

With both teams already the result of many prior mergers, the new club formed will be the culmination of 43 historic teams.

Golf anyone?

The best part of this job is the people I get to meet.

Case in point: Barb Parsons and Di Learmonth, pictured here at Barwon Heads Golf Club.

Barb is 94 and Di is 90. They've both been members at the Barwon Heads club for decades.

The ladies were more than happy to muck around on the green to get some shots for a Geelong Advertiser story I was working on.

They're a happy team at Hawthorn

Was lucky enough to get tickets to the AFL grand final today.

The only problem was I had to work.

But I suppose there are worse ways to earn a buck then plonking yourself in the middle of the Hawks cheer squad and photographing the colour and excitement of the grand final for the Herald Sun.

The Hawks were unstoppable.

Farming for Christmas

Alessandro Costa keeps an eye on the 35,000 trees at his Treerite Christmas tree farm at Napoleons as he gears up for the busy season.

Travelled to Ballarat today to shoot a photo for the Herald Sun and came accros Alessandro at his Christmas tree farm.

Every one of those 35,000 trees needs to be shaped every year to ensure they are perfect when harvested.

Alessandro also gives each tree an annual blast with a high-pressure air cleaner to remove spiders that might have made their home inside.
