Former Kimberley stockman Eddie Bear (pictured) knows a thing or two about cattle.

Based at Mowanjum community in WA's remote West Kimberley, Eddie has worked at many of the region's big cattle stations.

After a lifetime in the saddle, Eddie is one of the leaders of Mowanjum driving a game-changing agricultural development in his community.

The best part of this job is the people I get to meet.

Case in point: Barb Parsons and Di Learmonth, pictured here at Barwon Heads Golf Club.

Barb is 94 and Di is 90. They've both been members at the Barwon Heads club for decades.

The ladies were more than happy to muck around on the green to get some shots for a Geelong Advertiser story I was working on.

Cotton Country

Arrived in Leeton, New South Wales, today to check out the region's burgeoning cotton industry.

George Commins, pictured, is one of a number of young guns who have returned to family properties to grow cotton on what were once rice and grain operations.

The crop pictured was about a week off harvesting.

Koolaman Station

Back on the road this week and up in New South Wales.

Spent a couple of days with the Gorman family on Koolaman Station, north west of Balranald.

The sheep dogs were called into action for this shot, herding a mob of Merino rams just after sunrise.

Party girl Nell Harrison gets into the festive spirit to celebrate her 105th birthday at her Belmont nursing home in Geelong.

Nell was amazin. Bright as a spark and full of humour, the life of the party.
