Love is in the air

Had the pleasure of photographing my mate Emily's wedding to her long time partner Ross today at Barwon Heads.

Had some fun with the social pics after the ceremony.

Kilto Station

Feels good to be back in the Kimberley. This time on Kilto Station, just north of Broome.

It might be the region's smallest cattle run, but Jack and Vicki Burton have done incredible things with this patch of dirt.

Had some fun buzzing around in an R22 with Jack. Not to mention two days in a roadtrain driving from Broome to Halls Creek, and back.

Dachshund Derby

Headed out to the country today for the Herald Sun to photograph the Dachshund Derby at Inverleigh.

Some priceless dress ups, including this little fella who had a saddle and jockey buckled onto his back.

One more White Night pic.

These incredible light beams shot skyward at Alexandra Gardens.

White Night

Posted on Monday, 24 February 2014 09:21 by .

Spent Saturday night buried in the crowds that flooded Melbourne for White Night.

Apparently 550,000 people were in the city for this. At one stage it took me half-an-hour to move from Federation Square to Young and Jackson's pub.

Despite the hassles moving about got some great shots for the Herald Sun, which got a good run online: Herald Sun White Night Photo Essay

And one of my pics attracted a fair bit of attention on Facebook: Herald Sun Facebook Page

The installement titled "Monuments" at Birrarung Marr was my favourite.

Giant projectors beamed faces onto the Oak trees that line the Yarra River.

As seen on a Melbourne Art Tour.

Apparently this is one of only two Banskys in the whole city.

The other is a metre from this one. Exactly the same.

One of the coolest discoveries on a Melbourne Art Tour.

Track work

Heading home after a late shift at the Herald Sun and spotted these guys fixing the tram tracks near home.

Like fireworks but on the ground.

Papping Eminem

Posted on Tuesday, 18 February 2014 09:40 by .

We got word Eminem was bowling at Strike in the city so I headed down to see if I could get a shot of the rapper knocking down some pins.

He'd just flown into Melbourne so the newspaper was pretty keen to get a shot.

But soon as I walked in his bodyguards were all over me. I asked super politely but no chance of a photo.

So I went outside, hid behind a bush on a grassy knoll outside the State library and waited.

The street was crawling with minders.

Then, as he came out of Strike, dressed in a hoody and looking like an 18-year-old, I jumped up and shot off six frames.

The things we do to make a buck.
